Europlasma, a specialist in treatment and hazardous waste, material recovery and decarbonization, announces that its subsidiary Inertam, an asbestos waste treatment site, has received authorization from the National Center for Cross-Border Waste Transfers (PNTTD)- Ministry of Ecological Transition, to receive 150 tonnes of Swiss asbestos waste expected at the end of December 2022.
This waste is transported by a major player in the collection of hazardous waste in Switzerland, a partner of Inertam. Indeed, an agreement signed with the latter last March (press release of 03/17/2022) also provides for the sending to Inertam of a minimum of 500 tonnes of asbestos waste per year from 2023 to be inerted there by vitrification. .
Like the previous two from Italy, this new cross-border delivery illustrates the growing awareness of the impact of asbestos-contaminated waste on public health and the environment and could act as a catalyst in favor of the long-lasting solution of Inertam which definitively eliminates the risk of toxicity.
Together, they represent an amount of more than €1 million, it being specified that Inertam does not bear any financial risk insofar as payment of the full cost of treatment takes place upon delivery of the waste to the site.
