EUROPLASMA, a specialist in treatment and hazardous waste, material recovery and decarbonization, announces that its subsidiary INERTAM has signed a 7-year framework agreement with the Italian company FURIA, which notably operates a hazardous waste with an annual capacity of 223,000 tonnes for dispatch to dedicated recovery channels.
INERTAM and FURIA have thus agreed to collaborate so that the Italian asbestos waste collected is transported to the Morcenx-la-Nouvelle (40) treatment center in order to be permanently destroyed by vitrification. Beyond the obvious environmental and health reasons, the choice of vitrification for asbestos waste is part of a logic of circular economy since the by-product obtained, called Cofalit®, will subsequently be recovered as backfill for road underlay.
FURIA and INERTAM are already working on examining an authorization for cross-border transport between Italy and France for up to 500 tonnes of asbestos waste.
Through this new collaboration with a major player in depollution and waste treatment, INERTAM confirms its transalpine leadership in terms of the final treatment and recovery of asbestos.
