Europlasma widens its losses in the first half

(AOF) – During the first half of 2023, Europlasma saw its current operating loss deteriorate in one year, going from 7.5 to 8.5 million euros. Over this period, the hazardous waste treatment specialist posted a net loss of 2.5 million euros compared to a loss of 2.4 million euros in the first half of 2022. In this first half of 2023, Europlasma generated a turnover of 7.2 million euros, stable compared to the same period of the previous financial year.

It is noted that this was reduced, to the tune of 1 million euros, by delivery delays attributable to a subcontractor and postponing the recognition of revenue to the second half.

Cash flows linked to operating activities amounted to -4.3 million euros, a very clear improvement compared to the first half of 2022, thanks in particular to a reduction of 2.1 million euros in the working capital requirement compared to an increase of 6.4 million euros in the first half of 2022.

On the outlook side, Europlasma announces that “in the second half of 2023, the environment remains marked by continued tensions on energy costs which should penalize the production of the asbestos waste treatment plant.

Out of prudence, the group is adjusting its 2023 annual objective to 1,428 tonnes of asbestos waste treated and anticipates a renewal of the sobriety plan until the resumption of production planned for the second quarter of 2024.
