Eurovision Song Contest 2020: Organizers announce final cancellation

A solution has been desperately sought for days, now it is clear: This year's Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) cannot take place due to the coronavirus pandemic. The music competition, the final of which should have been held on May 16 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, was officially canceled on Wednesday (March 18) by the European Broadcasting Union. It was "impossible" to stage the live event as planned, it says on Twitter.

How the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 is going to be clarified in the coming days. It can be seen from the published statement that Rotterdam could once again be considered as a venue. Will Ben Dolic (22) get his chance? The musician with Slovenian roots should have represented Germany with his single "Violent Thing" at this year's ESC.
