Among others, Michelle and Max Giesinger are on the jury that awards half of the German points at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The expert jury that will award the German points at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 has been determined. This was announced by NDR shortly before the first semi-final on May 10th. President of the jury is pop singer Michelle (50). In 2001 she took eighth place at the ESC in Copenhagen with “Who Love Lives”.

Michelle’s comrades-in-arms are singer-songwriter Max Giesinger (33), his colleague Tokunbo and radio presenter Christian Brost. The jury is completed by Felicia Lu (26). The singer was present at the preliminary decision for the German song for the ESC, but went empty-handed against Malik Harris (24).

As in previous years, Barbara Schöneberger (48) presents the German points on the live show. It is the seventh appearance in a row for the moderator.

Michelle and Co. awarded 50 percent of the German votes

Michelle’s jury awards half of the points that Germany distributes at the ESC in Turin. As usual, the other half is determined by the audience. Both the jury and the audience not only vote for the final on May 14, but also for the semifinals. The lot has determined that Germany may vote in the second semi-final on May 12th. As usual, the German vocal contribution is set for the finale.

Unlike the spectators, the jury does not only vote for the ESC winner during the live show. Michelle and Co. already vote during the dress rehearsal on the evening before the respective shows. Michelle, Giesinger, Felicia Lu, Tokunbo and Brost are not in Turin. Instead, they follow the performances together from Hamburg and form an opinion.
