Eurozone: Economic sentiment improves in March


March 27 (Reuters) – Economic sentiment in the euro zone improved in March, according to data released by the European Commission on Wednesday.

The monthly index of economic sentiment in the 20 countries sharing the euro accelerated to 96.3 this month, a figure in line with expectations. In February, it stood at 95.5 (revised from 95.4).

In industry, sentiment remained in negative territory, going from -9.4 (revised from -9.5) in February to -8.8 in March, against a consensus of -9.

In the services sector, sentiment improved from 6 to 6.3 in March, compared to a consensus of 7.8.

Consumer confidence is stable at -14.9 in March, as expected. (Writing by Diana Mandiá, editing by Kate Entringer)
