Eurozone: improvement in economic sentiment in March

(CercleFinance.com) – In March 2024 compared to the previous month, the economic sentiment index (ESI) recovered in the EU (+0.7 points to 96.2) and in the euro zone (+ 0.8 points to 96.3), according to the results of the European Commission’s monthly survey.

In the EU, confidence improved among retailers, consumers and, to a lesser extent, managers in services and industry, while it remained stable in construction.

The Employment Outlook Index (EEI) remained practically stable for the second consecutive month in both zones (+0.1 point, at 102.3 in the EU and 102.6 in the euro zone), but unlike the ESI, it scored above its long-term average.
