(Boursier.com) — Eutelsat Communications and the Tuvalu Telecommunications Corporation (TTC) have concluded a contract relating to the in-orbit resources of the Eutelsat 172B satellite in order to promote the deployment of corporate networks serving the needs of the various public bodies and the main SMEs of the Tuvalu islands.

Thanks to this multi-year agreement, Tuvalu Telecommunications Corporation will be able to rely on the exceptional coverage of the Eutelsat 172B satellite in order to materialize its commitment in favor of the fight against the digital divide in landlocked geographical areas. As the sole telecommunications operator in the archipelago of Tuvalu, Tuvalu Telecommunications Corporation (TTC) is a public institution providing telecommunications and information technology services to subscribers located throughout the islands and atolls of Tuvalu .

Christophe Cazes, Director of Eutelsat for the Asia-Pacific region, said: “Thanks to this agreement, the company TTC intends to take advantage of the advantages of the Eutelsat 172B satellite to increase the number of corporate networks for public bodies and many SMEs spread across the four corners of the archipelago. This partnership once again highlights the essential place now occupied by satellite technology in the implementation of the objectives set by governments, companies and other institutional players in terms of connectivity”.
