(Boursier.com) — Eutelsat Konnect VHTS, the largest and most modern satellite ever launched by the global satellite operator Eutelsat Communications is preparing to reach the European spaceport of Kourou in French Guiana by boat, in anticipation of its scheduled launch on September 6, 2022 aboard an Ariane 5 rocket.

Eutelsat Konnect VHTS is a very high power satellite designed by Thales Alenia Space. Its mission is to offer broadband and mobile connectivity services throughout Europe. With a Ka-band capacity of 500 Gbps, Eutelsat Konnect VHTS is the largest geostationary satellite ordered to date in Europe. It will carry on board the most powerful existing digital processor, capable of combining flexibility in the allocation of capacity and optimal use of the spectrum. It relies on a capacity 7 times greater than that of its cousin Eutelsat Konnect launched in 2020.
