Eutelsat: partnership with Comtech in Antarctica

(CercleFinance.com) – Comtech announced that it has collaborated with Eutelsat OneWeb as part of a project aimed at providing connectivity services in low Earth orbit (LEO) to Antarctica.

During a test phase launched in January 2024, the American satellite communications specialist says it managed to reach a speed of 120 Mbps, even though it is one of the most isolated regions in the world.

He explains that his objective is to be able to allow scientists stationed in Antarctica to conduct their everyday activities more easily by having access to a real-time connection, whether for their research work or their contacts with the outside world.
