Eutelsat: reaches 200,000 Konnect users in Africa

(CercleFinance.com) – After six months of participation in the Partner2Connect coalition, Eutelsat is pleased to have reached the bar of 200,000 users of Konnect Wi-Fi access points in sub-Saharan Africa.

As a reminder, in June 22 Eutelsat joined the Partner2Connect digital coalition set up by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), a platform which aims in particular to promote the digital transition within the most isolated communities.

In this context, Eutelsat committed to providing Internet access to 1 million people living in the least served regions of sub-Saharan Africa by 2027.

‘Eutelsat’s commitment to the Partner2Connect digital coalition demonstrates our desire to promote access to connectivity services and bridge the digital divide in sub-Saharan Africa. The major milestone of 200,000 users of the Konnect service attests to our ability to mobilize the resources that will allow us to honor our commitment by 2027,” summarizes Eva Berneke, CEO of Eutelsat.
