Eutelsat: warning on its accounts

(AOF) – Eutelsat launched a warning this Monday on its accounts for the financial year which will end on June 30, 2024 while suspending its forecasts for the following financial year. The satellite operator Eutelsat has indicated that it now anticipates a turnover of between 1.25 billion and 1.3 billion euros and an adjusted gross operating surplus (Ebitda) of between 650 million and 680 million euros for the 2023-2024 financial year.

Its initial forecasts were for revenue of between 1.32 billion and 1.42 billion euros and adjusted Ebitda of between 725 million and 825 million euros for 2023-2024.

In a press release, the group tried to explain this situation by “delays in the deployment of ground infrastructures, as well as by a distribution of turnover more marked than expected in favor of the marketing of user terminals, a factor which has an impact on margins. “The late commissioning of ground infrastructure has an impact on turnover, particularly in the mobility segment and in certain regions where market access conditions have not been not yet been reunited,” he continued.

Eutelsat, whose results from OneWeb’s low-orbit activities are somewhat behind the initial schedule, has indicated that the financial objectives for the 2024-2025 financial year will be reassessed and communicated on the occasion of the publication of the results of Eutelsat’s 2023-2024 financial year on August 2, 2024.
