Lace, a train and lots of bare skin: With this dress, Eva Longoria had the photographers on her side on the red carpet in Cannes.

At a performance in Cannes, Eva Longoria (48) made an impression with her choice of dress: The actress appeared at the premiere of “The Old Oak” in a white lace dress that could almost pass as a naked dress.

The glamorous dress is from the spring/summer collection by Elie Saab, a fashion designer from Beirut. It consists practically only of lace decorations and sequins that play around the body of its wearer, whereby the important parts of skin-colored fabric inserts are protected from prying eyes. A long train adds drama to the floor-length, sleeveless dress.

Longoria combined sparkling earrings, shimmering eye make-up with long eyeliner and platform heels. Longoria wore her hair up, with a few strands cascading around her face.

Longoria criticizes the lack of equality in Hollywood

Longoria had previously caused a stir in Cannes with her statements in a panel discussion. The 48-year-old, who made her directorial debut in March with her film “Flamin’ Hot,” vented her anger at the lack of equality in Hollywood.

On the one hand, she criticized the inequality in dealing with directors. On the other hand, she complained that filmmakers with Latin American roots were absolutely underrepresented in the American film business.

When working on “Flamin’ Hot” she was always aware that as a Latina she shouldn’t allow herself to flop – while white male directors would not jeopardize their careers. “We don’t get a lot of tries. A white man can direct a $200 million film, fail and get another film,” Longoria said. You, on the other hand, have to work “twice as hard, twice as fast, twice as cheaply”.
