Actress Evan Rachel Wood has revealed that her ex-partner Marilyn Manson allegedly abused her.
"Westworld" actress Evan Rachel Wood (33) had already reported several times of a violent relationship from her past. Now she also reveals the name of the ex-partner who is said to have abused her. "The name of my tormentor is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started contacting me with ulterior motives when I was a teenager and abused me horribly for years," said the actress in a statement she posted on Monday ( February 1) published on Instagram.
"I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission," writes Evan Rachel Wood. She no longer wants to live "in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail". She wants to expose this dangerous man and everyone who would have enabled him to do so before he ruins more lives. "I stand by the many victims who will no longer be silent." According to Vanity Fair, at least four other women have signed up and shared their experiences with Manson in public. Wood shared some statements on her Instagram Stories.
After three years of relationship, Evan Rachel Wood and the much older scandal rocker Marilyn Manson (52) got engaged in January 2010. The separation followed seven months later. Wood has already spoken of a violent relationship in the past, in which she escaped in self-harm, as she revealed in an Instagram post in 2019. "Whenever my tormentor threatened or attacked me, I would cut my arm in order to disarm him. But that only stopped the abuse temporarily." In 2016 she said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine that she had been raped twice. Once from an ex-partner and later "from the owner of a bar".
Denied allegations in the past
Rumors that the partner in Wood's violent relationship could be Marilyn Manson had been denied several times by Manson's circle. A spokesman published a statement via "NME" in November 2020, stating, among other things, that Evan Rachel Wood "was with several people around the time she was with Manson.
