It is an ordeal that she lived in all discretion. In 2012, Evelyne Dhéliat was absent from the TF1 antenna for six months to treat breast cancer. “As happens to thousands of women, I underwent surgery in the spring which required rest and treatment”, announced Ms. Weather in a press release. Ten years after having overcome the disease, Evelyne Dhéliat has made heartbreaking confidences in the columns of Between Us. “The worst is the moment when you are toldshe recalled, still devastated. Talking about it always stirs things up in me.” With our colleagues, Mrs. weather explains why she had decided to silence her fight to the public.
“I felt it was something personal and intimate. I always made a clear cut between public and private life. I didn’t want to show off. Also out of respect for the public”added Evelyne Dhéliat. After her fight, she had finally decided to speak publicly to lift a tabooadvised by her doctors but also Jean-Pierre Pernaut. “Our discussions helped me a lot in my decision to speak in my turn. He wanted to help. I had not understood this notion before”, explained the weather specialist to Entre Nous, thus returning to the desire of the presenter of TF1 to speak openly about the disease which won him last April.
Evelyne Dhéliat: “There is no time for regrets”
Ten years after this ordeal, Evelyne Dhéliat is appeased. “I’m 74 years old, that’s life and then it’s like that. I have no regrets, to move forward is to age. Existence passes quickly. There is no time for the regrets, she assures our colleagues. I’m very lucky to still be working. I have a lot of friends aged 45-50 and I don’t feel any barrier between the generation before and mine. The happiness of my age is the happiness of what life brings me.” Aware that many women are affected by this cancer, she wanted to send a strong message: “Nothing is lost and everything is won. Above all, do not put your life on hold. I myself have experienced the ‘robust’ side of the operations to be carried out afterwards, but I have always chosen to continue to carry out my projects. “.
