Discover a very little-known film with Chadwick Boseman: a mixture of drama and action against a backdrop of the trauma of the Iraq War: “The Kill Hole”.
You probably don’t know this film and for good reason: it is not visible anywhere except via import DVDs! Although performed by Chadwick Boseman who is the star, The Kill Hole has never been released in France and is not hosted on any streaming site.
Boseman plays Lieutenant Samuel Drake, a veteran of the Iraq War traumatized by what he saw there, who is asked to track down Sergeant Devon Carter who is isolated in the Canadian Pacific Northwest region to prepare an attack against the government.

The Kill Hole is the first and only feature film by Mischa Webley, who has since returned to short films. It has the merit of being Chadwick Boseman’s second film and the first to allow him to star. In 2013, the actor had not yet filmed 42 and Get On Up, which would put him in the spotlight.
We also find Tory Kittles from the Equalizer series, but also Billy Zane from Back to the Future and Titanic and Peter Greene, the villain from The Mask.
In the absence of data on AlloCiné linked to the non-distribution of the film on French territory, a look at Rotten Tomatoes illustrates that the film was not well received, neither by the public nor by critics . The film has a satisfaction rate of 25% for the press and 26% for spectators. On Metacritic, the score goes back to 39, but displays an unfavorable review.

Even invisible and obviously not a masterpiece, it is good to know that this film, which recalls the atmosphere of Rambo 2, exists, in that it helped give the late Chadwick Boseman a chance. When will there be a French release?
