Even overestimated – mountain rescue must save Germans from via ferrata

A 17-year-old German and his father had to save the Rauris rescue team on Thursday afternoon.

The youngster couldn’t get any further in the upper part of the “free fall” via ferrata due to exhaustion. The duo had probably underestimated the via ferrata of difficulty level “D” before the ascent. Mountain rescuers and alpine police set up a rescue ropeway and thus freed the Germans from their plight.
