Who has never wanted to rub shoulders with Bouffe-Tout and the specters of the cult SOS Ghostbusters 1 & 2? It will soon be possible, but avoid coming across the scents.

Gameplay and a date for the very immersive Ghostbusters game
At a Meta Quest 2 conference, nDreams announced a new Ghostbusters game in VR. It didn’t have a title at the time, but the studio remedied that during PlayStation’s latest State of Play. His name is Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lordand will be released on October 26, 2023 on PSVR 2 and Meta Quest 2. Yes, the month wasn’t busy enough yet…
The official name and release date have been communicated, but basically nothing changes. This new Ghostbusters game is a cooperative software, for up to 4 players, and offers the possibility of becoming the next Peter Venkman. “Ghost hunting requires teamwork. No Ghostbusters movie is about one person facing paranormal phenomena alone, and it’s truly exhilarating to wear this iconic gear together as we get closer and closer to slightly angry ghosts. Add in a new story, new locations, new gear, and new characters, and you have the recipe for the ultimate Ghostbusters experience in VR.” explains game director, Nathan Baseley.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will be playable on Meta Quest 2, but it is on PSVR 2 that the experience will be complete and the most advanced. The headset’s eye movement tracking will be used for menus, grabbing objects, and even interacting with other colleagues. The haptic feedback of the accessory will allow you to feel the spectra with varying degrees of intensity.

In addition to the haptic feedback of PSVR 2, this new Ghostbusters game will support the adaptive triggers of PlayStation VR 2 Sense controllers. Here again, there are different levels, in particular to trigger the proton blaster or to crush mini-marshmallow bidendums.
