Everyone wants to take their place: a candidate makes a reference to the Flambeau, discomfort on the set

Visibly a fan of the series Le Flambeau, broadcast on Canal +, a candidate for the show Everyone wants to take his place referred to it on Wednesday July 6, 2022 on France 2. Unfortunately for him, he caused discomfort on the set.

After having met with immense success with The flame, which parodied the famous reality TV show The BachelorJonathan Cohen recently made his return to Canal+ with the 2nd season of fiction. Renamed The torch, the series has this time parodied another cult French television program: Koh Lanta. Once again, viewers of the encrypted channel overwhelmingly voted for the series worn by Jonathan Cohen. Among the various spectators who have followed Marc’s new adventures, the character played by Jonathan Cohen on screenwe can notably mention one of the candidates of the show Everyone wants to take its place.

Indeed, present on the set of the daily game presented by Laurence Boccolini on Wednesday July 6, 2022 on France 2, the candidate in question managed to reach the final. Asked about the theme of love in the theatre, he made a small reference to Torch when he had to answer the following question:In a play by Corneille, what garment does Medea poison to get revenge on Jason?“.”The vase of Soissons“, he proudly launched to the host, who obviously did not understand the reference. Perplexed, Laurence Boccolini refrained from laughing at the lack of consistency of the candidate’s answer in relation to the question asked.

Everyone wants to take their place: big moment of hesitation after a failed joke from a candidate

As a reminder, besides Koh Lanta, Jonathan Cohen has parodied several other TV shows in episodes of the TorchFor example Top chef and Meeting in unknown land. At one point, the characters in the series had to answer a general knowledge quiz. When it came to the character played by Jonathan Cohen, only one answer proved to be correct for all the questions put to him: “The vase of Soissons“. The candidate of Everyone wants to take its place therefore wanted to wink at this rehearsal comedy on France 2. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t cause laughter, but rather discomfort on set, because hardly anyone understood the reference to Torch.
