Everything except bent over – Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak: So much sport!

Ducati has pre-buttoned the sporty travel enduro Multistrada V4 and trimmed it for maximum sportiness. The steamer has been fundamentally technically revised and given a design inspired by MotoGP. The result is the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. For people who want to ride a super sports car, but not stooped.

Pretty much everything was touched except for the engine, which continues to get 170 hp out of 1160 cm³ and delivers a maximum torque of 125 Nm at 8,750 rpm. With a standing noise of 92 dB (A) it is also Tyrol-approved. New is a race mode with a particularly sporty set-up of the limiter, which intervenes more slowly than with the normal Multistrada V4. The Quickshifter also has a special strategy that enables extremely aggressive downshifts, as well as an even more direct throttle response in high power mode. Completely revised, otherwise hardly a screw remained in the thread. The aluminum monocoque frame has been revised, and the steering head angle has also been changed. In addition, the chassis geometry of track and wheelbase has been optimized to meet the new requirements of the machine: the front wheel measures just 17 inches instead of 19, on the one hand because of better handling, on the other hand because the selection of suitable tires that allow racetrack use at the limit is practically zero . The Öhlins fork is gold anodized, and a single-sided swing arm works at the rear. Instead of the Marzocchi chassis of the Multistrada V4 S, the semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0, which also has the “Event Based” mode of the Panigale V4 S and the Streetfighter V4 S, is used. In this mode, the settings are automatically adapted to the driving style. The forged aluminum rims from Marchesini carry Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV in the dimensions 120/70 or 190 / 55-17 as standard. The rims are 2.7 kg lighter than those of the Multistrada V4 S. The braking system comes from the very top of the shelf: At the front, 330 mm discs and “Brembo Stylema” monoblock brake calipers are used, which come directly from the Panigale V4 are derived. At the rear, however, the braking system of the Multistrada V4 and V4 S is installed. The rear wheel is decelerated by a single 265 mm disc in combination with a Brembo floating caliper. Compared to the Multistrada V4, the seating position has been completely redesigned: the footpegs are higher and moved backwards to increase the lean angle, while the handlebars are lower and is narrower and has curved handlebar ends. Real super sport ambitions should be carefully considered with a weight of 244 kg ready to drive. Super sporty optics The “Pikes Peak” paintwork is based on the Desmosedici GP ’21 in terms of color and graphics, and start number fields can be found on the side of the tank. In addition to the Akrapovič silencer made of titanium and carbon (street legal), other components made of carbon fiber were also installed. The windshield is particularly low, the seat here in two colors in black and red with the V4 logo, and the Ducati Corse emblem on the “beak” refers to the intended area of application exclusively on fast asphalt. The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak takes over the latest Generation of the electronics package of the Multistrada V4 S, which includes the standard radar technology both front and rear, which enables the functions Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD). The 6.5 is also included -Inch TFT display that allows the navigation map to be mirrored from the mobile phone. The Pikes peak should be available from dealers from December 2021 – from 33,295 euros. That is 6300 euros more than the Multistrada V4 S with radar package costs.
