The PS5 Pro reveals itself a little more with new details and everything seems to be confirmed: it would be much superior to the PS5 Standard, by far.

Sony’s next console has been getting a lot of attention lately. Just a few days ago, a new barrage of information regarding the PS5 Pro hit the Web. It all started with a videographer revealing new details about the machine, claiming that it would be much more powerful than the standard PS5. He took the opportunity to support his statements by giving us technical elements.

“It’s all true”, the rumors are confirmed

We obviously took all of his information with a grain of salt, but a few hours later, Tom Henderson, often (if not always) well informed, came to confirm all of this. According to him, everything is true and the machine would arrive within a few months. And just when we thought we knew everything there was to learn at the moment, Henderson returned later this weekend with new, detailed information.

This time, Henderson tackles the technical specifications of the machine and compares it directly with the standard PS5. He affirms that his sources have confirmed each of his elements and reiterates: the console will arrive within a few months.
Since the beginning of the rumors, we have known that the PS5 Pro will be more powerful than the console currently available. It would not be so much in terms of raw power, but rather a story of overall performance and computing capacity. The machine would be roughly capable of handling more, improving the graphics via AI and in-house technology and therefore displaying a higher framerate. And if we are to believe the technical details that Henderson reveals to us today, the PS5 PRo would indeed be very powerful.

New details on the PS5 Pro

The new information from the insider therefore confirms that the processor of the PS5 Pro would be similar to that of the standard PS5, except for one big detail. The PS5 Pro would indeed be able to override the frequency limit of its processor allowing it to go up to 3.85 GHz, where it is currently stuck at 3.50 GHz. It’s not a big change, but it’s still an improvement that will allow you to gain a little power.

Besides this, Henderson also confirms that the system memory will be significantly improved. Previous rumors announced improved bandwidth, without giving us details, and a calculation capacity of 18 GT/s (number of transfer units per second) compared to 14 GT/s on the PS5 Standard. This is therefore well and truly validated by the insider who adds that the bandwidth of the PS5 Pro will now be 576 Gb/s compared to 448 Gb/s with the standard machine. Finally, the GPU part (the graphics processor) should allocate more power to the shaders (this is what allows for a beautiful rendering, among other things). In barbaric terms, this means that the PS5 Pro will have 30 WGP dedicated to shaders (BVH8) compared to 18 WGP allocated to shaders (BVH4) on the current console.

The PS5 Pro should therefore be able to withstand more, even if we remain quite doubtful about this story of high frequency for the processor. These new details are piled on top of everything we already know and little by little the specifications of the console are taking shape. Seen from here, the PS5 Pro would therefore be a real monster of power, a good step above our current consoles. We will of course wait for confirmation of all this from Sony, but it sounds pretty good. We also remind you that, according to rumors, the PS5 Pro should arrive at the end of the year.
