Everything you need to know about the format and qualifications of Pokémon Unite Worlds


We already knew that Pokémon Unite would have the right to a world cup this summer taking place in London during the Pokémon World Championship, it is now the complete course of these Pokémon Unite Championship Series which is detailed to us. For its first-ever World Cup, showing Pokémon Unite’s intentions of becoming a competitive MOBA, the entire circuit in 2022 presents a cashprize of 1,000,000 dollars, 500,000 of which will be solely dedicated to the Worlds next summer. The winning team will receive her $100,000.

As for the format of the competition, it will therefore be played en team of 5 playing in Pokémon Unite tournament mode. Each month, Open Qualifiers will be held without entrance fee from February to June. In addition, all media will have access to the game, whether on Switch, iOS or Android.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS POKEMON UNIT 2022


The first season of the Championships Pokemon UNIT will cover seven regions: North America, South America, Europe, Oceania, Japan, South Korea and Asia-Pacific. Tournaments Pokemon UNIT will only be open to players aged 16 or over (minimum age requirements may vary in some regions or countries).


Each month, a qualifying tournament will take place in each region. Players will receive Championship Points (CP) based on their team’s finishing position in this monthly tournament. Each player will keep these PCs individually, to allow for team changes throughout the season. The teams with the most CP will qualify for the Regional Championships. The best-placed teams at the Regional Championships will then qualify for the Pokémon World Championships.


Each month, the tournament will start with qualifying matches (in a double elimination format), as in the case of the February Cup. The top sixteen teams will participate in the monthly finals, which will be held two to three weeks after the qualifying matches. For most regions, these monthly finals will be streamed online. In April, players will be able to participate in the Æos Cup, a special tournament offering rewards and more CP than the regular monthly tournaments. In each region, the top four teams from the monthly tournament in March, as well as the top twelve teams from the Aeos Cup Last Chance Tournament, will compete in a round-robin tournament; the best will then participate in the final in double elimination.
