Boxing legend Frank Bruno, considered one of the greatest fighters in British history, has opened up about an anecdote from his childhood. He claimed to have drunk eight pints of beer in two hours at the age of 8.
A strange anecdote. At 60, Frank Bruno has had an exceptional career. World heavyweight boxing champion in 1996, the British athlete is a true ring legend. Considered one of the greatest fighters in the history of Great Britain, during his professional years, he notably delivered epic fights against Lennox Lewis, Tim Witherspoon or even the most famous Mike Tyson.
His career now far behind him, Frank Bruno does not hesitate to share some anecdotes of his life. While he said he did not have time to party during his younger years, logically favoring his physical preparation, his past experiences with alcohol, however, are not virgin. Quite the contrary.

In a recent interview, he notably recounted having returned to his mother totally drunk in the company of one of his friends when they were still only children. “Me and my friend came across a barrel of beer that had been dumped in the street”began to tell the former boxer on an anecdote dating back to his eight years.
“I remember taking a sip and thinking it tasted horrible. But we kept drinking it until the barrel was empty. We drank about eight pints each in under two hours“, he continued, grinning from ear to ear.
“God knows what my mother was thinking when she saw me rocking from side to side in a terrible state. Moments later I was sick and I messed up the whole house. This episode deterred me from seeing it for the rest of my life. Even today, I rarely touch alcohol. This is called a great life lesson.
