Bobic “didn’t take the president seriously”

Fredi Bobic loses his job at Hertha BSC at the weekend after a disastrous first half of the season. Heribert Bruchhagen, former board member of Eintracht Frankfurt and Bobic’s predecessor there with sporting responsibility, suspects an aversion to his own president.
For the former DFL managing director Heribert Bruchhagen, it was no great surprise that there could be problems in the cooperation between the manager Fredi Bobic, who has just been released, and President Kay Bernstein at Hertha BSC. “It was clear to me from the start that it would be difficult when I read that a new president was coming. Bobic is not particularly keen on advisory talks. “I’m even afraid that Fredi didn’t take his president seriously. But he has now shown him what’s possible,” said the 74-year-old. However, he has serious doubts that the measure will now lead to success. “So close to the end of the transfer period was a bad time. The moment was even wrong. I just don’t believe that it will work,” added Bruchhagen and sees Hertha as a relegated team at the end of the season.
The Berliners parted ways with Bobic after losing 2-0 to city rivals 1. FC Union.
