Ex-King Juan Carlos: Surprising statement about King Felipe
Spain’s ex-King Juan Carlos, 83, strikes astonishingly soft tones. At least since the unexpected escape from his home country to his self-chosen exile in the United Arab Emirates last year, the relationship with his son and successor King Felipe, 53, has been tense. The new book by Laurence Debray, published in France on October 6, 2021, entitled “Mon Roi déchu. Juan Carlos d’Espagne” [zu dt.: “Mein gefallener König. Juan Carlos von Spanien”] conveys a different picture, however.
“When he talks about the king, his pride knows no bounds. His face is full of tenderness and he is full of satisfaction,” says Debray, who visited Juan Carlos for research in Abu Dhabi. “He is a prepared and relaxed king,” the ex-king is said to have said. Not a bitter word passed his lips in view of the rift between father and son, which reached its climax after the older man’s bribe scandal. But not only for Felipe, but also for his daughter-in-law, he has only good words to say: “Letizia is an exemplary mother for her two charming heiresses.”

Princess Victoria: Prince Oscar “keeps us busy”
Princess Victoria, 44, and Prince Daniel of Sweden, 48, don’t seem bored at Haga Castle. Prince Christian celebrates with Danish rap star
Prince Christian, 15, has been attending the classy Herlufsholm boarding school in Naestved since summer 2021. But in his free time he does what teenagers do – have fun! The Danish rapper Kesi has posted a whole series of pictures on his Instagram profile showing him doing various activities. If you click through it quickly, you could almost overlook the fact that one of these pictures shows the second in line to the Danish throne. The first pictures show Kesi in an everyday situation: he is cuddling with a puppy, is in a restaurant, is at the hairdresser and the manicure.
Then comes photo number five: the musician stands arm in arm with Prince Christian and two other friends in the backstage area of a festival. They seem to be having a great time, each holding a cold drink in their hand. Despite his role as the future heir to the throne, Prince Christian seems to want to live out his youth.

Prince Frederik protects his nephew Prince Felix
When Denmark’s heir to the throne Prince Frederik, 53, opened a new veterans home in Jutland on October 4, 2021, he was asked about his nephew Prince Felix, 19. He had thrown in the towel surprisingly quickly and broke off his military training after a few weeks. After his big brother Prince Nikolai, 22, Prince Joachims, 52, the second oldest, threw in the towel within a very short time. Frederik himself can look back on a long and successful career in the Danish military. Today he has the rank of Rear Admiral in the Navy and Major General in the Army and Air Force. After passing his Abitur in spring 2021 and after a well-deserved summer vacation in France, Prince Felix appropriately moved to the military. But after only four weeks on duty, Prince Frederik’s nephew gave up training.

The family shared a first photo of their new dog on Instagram with the signature: “Today is pet day! In an interview with the “Sunday Telegraph”, the 27-year-old says that although her childhood was “arbitrary”, she still has fond memories of life and travel. She describes this time as a “moment of pure freedom” and believes that not many children are allowed to experience something like this. “It was interesting and I was outside with animals the whole time. I was with children from all over the world – German, English, Italian, Spanish – we had our own little language,” says Pauline.
