Ex-Mayor Feldmann sentenced to fine

Feldmann was on trial on charges of corruption. The Frankfurt Regional Court has now sentenced him to a fine of 120 daily rates of EUR 175 each for taking advantage.

top. In the court proceedings, the former Frankfurt mayor (SPD) was accused of taking advantage in several cases. At the center of the allegations is the complaint that the former mayor gave his wife an overpaid job. The woman, who now lives separately from him, is said to have received a managerial position in a German-Turkish daycare center run by the social association “Arbeiterwohlfahrt”, for which she was not qualified. Feldmann himself worked for “Arbeiterwohlfahrt” until he took office as mayor in 2012.

Feldmann was sentenced to a fine by the Frankfurt district court on Friday, which he has to pay in 120 daily rates of 175 euros each. Feldmann had rejected the allegations in court.
