Acer is going to market a new office that promises to boost your productivity and your sports activity!
The eKinekt Bike Desk is a bike-desk that allows you to play sports, work, and even save electricity.
Acer combines sport, work and energy in a single object
It was a few weeks ago, Acer presented at CES 2023 a brand new product called eKinekt Bike Desk. No relationship with the small Xbox camera (but yes, remember), since this is a bike-office concept. This will be responsible for converting the energy produced by the user’s pedaling into electricity to charge electronic devices.
This pedaling side is obviously very popular with Acer, because the brand has recently formalized ebii, its very first electric bike. According to Acer, the eKinekt Bike Desk is an ideal tool for exercising while remaining productive from a professional point of view.
Perfect for combining sports activity and productivity
The bike-office signed Acer thus invites users to exercise by using the kinetic energy of the cyclist’s pedaling to power the whole thing, but also to charge a computer, a smartphone, a tablet, etc. The LCD display and accompanying smartphone app provide information to help users track their progress during exercises and/or work shifts.
The eKinekt Bike Desk is equipped with two USB-A ports and one USB-C port, a hook for hanging a bag and a drink holder. It is obviously usable at home, but can also be installed in a company.
According to the designer, one hour of constant pedaling at 60 revolutions per minute generates 75 W of energy. A small LED light is responsible for indicating when the eKinekt Bike Desk is producing it. Note that the object has a Sport mode and a Work mode, thus readjusting the position of the plate in relation to the user.
And if you thought this eKinekt Bike Desk was just a concept, think again. Acer plans to market the latter from the beginning of the summer, at a price of 999 dollars in the United States (and 999 euros in Europe). Coming soon?
