While everyone is waiting for Deadpool and Wolverine, the MCU sequel is being prepared behind the scenes. Among the most requested projects: a Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland. The news would be good for this film.
The MCU for many, many months now. The latest series and films released in cinemas are struggling to convince, when most of the next projects have been delayed and the big bad guy was kindly let go after his trial. The period is complicated for the connected universe of Marvel, which promises to be more vigilant in the choice of its future projects. “Quality rather than quantity,” the big boss of Disney tried to reassure a few months ago. If there’s one MCU film that could be a hit, it’s Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4. Good news, serious things should start very soon.
Spider-Man 4 could be released sooner than we think
After the huge success of No Way Home at the box office, Sony and Marvel are playing it safe and taking their time. Tom Holland himself had specified that a new film would only be made if “it was worth it” and that it brought something concrete to the character he cherishes so much. In other words, it was necessary to find a solid plot and stakes for Peter Parker and this is clearly the case. Last month, the actor finally confirmed his return in Spider-Man 4 and we obviously wouldn’t have to wait as long as we thought before seeing him again in the Spider-Man costume.
According to well-informed insider DanielRPK, filming of the film should begin this fall with a theatrical release planned for the end of 2025. For now, only Tom Holland has confirmed his presence, the return of Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (Ned) not yet being made official. We suspect that after the events of No Way Home that the trio will be reformed sooner or later and that Peter’s comrades should make at least one appearance in Spider-Man 4. Tom Holland and the teams have however been clear on one point : they do not want to play in the one-upmanship after the epic meeting of the three Weavers on screen.
If we are to believe the rumors circulating, the film could mark the occasion in a completely different way. The first appearance of Miles Morales in live-action would then be expected in Spider-Man 4. Tom Holland himself had shared his desire to see Peter’s protégé in the flesh on the big screen, as did many fans. Will this be the case? To be continued…
