Marvel’s Wolverine recently worried PS5 owners. Fortunately, he is back today with excellent news to tell us.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming next month and fans’ excitement is building. After its release, there won’t be any other Marvel superhero video games to report for a while. Next in line is Marvel’s Wolverine. Unfortunately, about a week ago, the latter found himself in a rather difficult situation. But Insomniac Games wanted to reassure us by giving us some very pleasant news.
Marvel’s Wolverine becomes a priority
For the record, the PS5 exclusivity project was in great danger because of the Hollywood screenwriters’ strike. This has extended to video games, particularly to voice actors and motion capture professionals. Their professions are threatened by the use of AI and they intend to assert their rights. The American studio behind Marvel’s Wolverine is precisely in the sights of the strikers, but it is not the only one. Epic Games, Disney, EA and even Warner Bros Games are affected. However, Insomniac still wants to speed up the development process.
We are certain that the studio will, without further delay, get down to creating Marvel’s Wolverine. Indeed, Tommy Mann, senior animator at Insomniac, made a great announcement on the X platform. He shared his desire to see players tackle Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Along the way, he let us know that he was going to work without further delay on the exclusive PS5. This is a message that will surely relieve part of the community who already saw the game being put aside for an indefinite period.
Logan is back soon
So while we don’t have a release date on the horizon yet, we can be sure that priority is being given to Marvel’s Wolverine. In fact, it may have started last year. For good reason, rumors explained that motion capture had started in April 2022. However, there had never been official confirmation. On the other hand, there is less room for doubt as to the identity of the actor who will play Logan.
Steve Blum is the one who had already donned the Wolverine costume in several games, series and animated films. He is therefore a veteran who panicked fans via a now-defunct TikTok video. We saw him decked out in typical facial motion capture equipment. The actor then told us that he was working on a video game whose name he could not reveal. The theories were rife, but one was unanimous: he will put on the mantle of Logan again.
