Confidences with an open heart. In the columns of the new issue of Closer, available on newsstands this Friday, September 16, Colin Farrell delivers without filter on his life, his children and his vision of the future.
It’s time for confidence for Colin Farrell. Back in force in Hollywood after two years of relative calm, the Irish actor chose Closer to take stock of his life. With an open heart, he mentions in particular the reasons for his withdrawal, explaining that he took advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic to devote himself to the essential: the family. “I (…) was able to isolate myself a little bit in order to better understand myself and take the time to better manage myselfhe confides. I also took the opportunity to devote more time to my life as a father, since in particular I had my youngest son at home for a long period..”
If the actor has felt the need to take a break so much, it’s because he knows that family time can’t be made up for and that his sons, James Padraig, 19, born from his relationship with model Kim Bordenave , and 12-year-old Henry Tadeusz, born during his story with Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś, will not get any younger. “Accepting that we are all becoming more serious, more mature, is not easy, he admits. The other day I was looking at pictures of my 12 year old son when he was just starting to walk and I collapsed. For me, it’s difficult to see your children grow up, to realize that they are losing a certain innocence, a form of carelessness. It’s not easy to see them turn the page on early childhood.”

Despite this melancholy, the actor looks to the future. “I want to live my life focusing on the future and no longer on the past. Yes, I think it’s important to have some time to reflect and reflect on what we may or may not have achieved in our respective lives. But it is essential to look to the future by trying to find a ‘normal’ life, even if that word does not particularly appeal to me. His ‘normality’, the 46-year-old star found him in Hollywood. In recent months, he has notably worn the Penguin costume in the film The Batmanby Matt Reeves and held one of the leading roles in Thirteen Lives, by Ron Howard. In addition, he is currently on the bill of The Banshees of Inisherina dark comedy-drama by Martin McDonagh.
