On the poster for I promise you, season 2 of which is currently broadcast on TF1, Guillaume Labbé indulged in a few secrets about his parents and brothers, in your Closer, on newsstands this Friday, February 4.
No doubt, Guillaume Labbé is a popular actor. Between heart map, The school of life and I promise you, the 39-year-old actor has made a name for himself in the French living room. Since January 31, the former rugby player has even found his character of Michaël in season 2 of the adaptation of This is us, alongside Marilou Berry and Narcisse Mame in particular. The opportunity for this handsome kid to give us an interview – available in its entirety in your magazine Closeron newsstands this Friday, February 4 – and se confide on his childhood and his family. He concedes it: he has something in common with Michaël Gallo of wanting to draw his mother’s attention to him. “Our parents managed to make us believe that we were all their favorite!“, he tells us with a burst of laughter.
Nonetheless, he acknowledges that it was – and still is – “difficult to assert yourself when you have two big brothers who are super strong in all areas“.”I I always felt complex about them. Still today. This is one of the reasons why I chose a profession different from theirs, in order to avoid confrontation.“says Guillaume Labbé, who also has a younger sister, Constance, also an actress. A career closely followed by his parents who – according to their son’s admission – find it difficult to separate things. “My mother prefers to see me play a super widowed teacher in The School of Life than a big macho in Plan Coeur”, he laughs. On the other hand, the latter is much less tender with his father. “He is convinced of being a great actor in constantly commenting on my game! It is sometimes very unpleasant…“, he lets go.
A “very happy childhood” but…
What about his childhood? Guillaume Labbé claims to have been “very happy“and growing up”with a cool education“.”Everything was negotiable with my parents. You had to have the right arguments and chat“, he details. A mode of operation that he still criticizes. “The problem with this kind of education where everything is negotiable is the feeling of insecurity that can result. Despite the freedom I had, as I didn’t want to disappoint them, I did very little bullshit“, he laments. But is it really a bad thing? One thing is certain: he should not not apply this education with his own children.
