Céline, the mother, is 35 years old, she was a childminder before the birth of the youngest and she introduced us to her big family: “My husband Clément is a bank branch manager, he is 43 years old. For my part, I am the mother of Lina who is 17 years old, the twins Lohan and Maé who are 15 years old. Clément is the father of Brice who is 15 years old and of Julia 12 years old. Both of us wanted to have a last little one together and we had triplets who are now 2 years old, Grace, Molly and Jade.” And their daily life is not really easy…

“Living in a blended family at first is not easy, you have to get to know each other, to live together, to accept each other’s differences. With us we talk a lot, we don’t want there to be taboo subjects and they know it. There is no difference between Clément’s children and mine, every time we say we have 8 children. On a daily basis, we try to make sure we don’t forget anyone, we always have to juggle between the lives of teenagers and little ones, that everyone has their time to listen, to go out. We do a lot of things, we try to give them lots of memories.”
Go from 5 children to 8!
“Our family grew a bit like that, with a separation and a meeting. We did not realize that with 5 children it was already a large family. And then the “little last one” arrived in force! That’s what we thought, it could only happen to us, but at least all teenagers have always had babies to cuddle.
For the little anecdote, once we were watching the show Families Large: life in XXL, with Julia, Clément’s daughter, and I told her “wow it’s crazy you realize they have 8 children, it’s huge!” she looked at me and said “but Céline when the triplets are here we will be 8 too!” It’s true that seeing it isn’t the same as when you live it, it’s completely different. Since the arrival of the girls, I stopped working, but I want to resume when they go to school. I have the chance to work from home as a childminderso I am still available for children.”
