Absent from the air for several months due to a health problem, Laurent Weil could soon be back on Canal+ according to his colleague, Laurie Cholewa, who confides in our columns.
For several months, lovers of the seventh art on Canal + have been wondering where everything went Laurent Weil. Last June, the journalist and “mister cinema” of the encrypted channel was the victim of a serious health problem which forced him to be hospitalized. He had then missed, for the first time in 20 years, the Cannes Film Festival. If Laurent Weil has not reappeared since the announcement of this health problem, his return to the air could be imminent.
Indeed, in the columns of TV Star to be released this Monday, March 28, Laurie Cholewa, her colleague from the Canal+ group’s cinema department, gives rather reassuring news on the journalist’s state of health. “I don’t want to speak on behalf of his family but he is resting and should be back soon. I’m delighted because I miss Laurent a lot”, told us the one who hosts the show Tchi tcha on the encrypted channel. Already last July, Laurie Cholewa had sent a tender message to her colleague during the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival: “We are thinking very much of Laurent Weil. The entire Canal + editorial team joins us in telling him how much we miss him. We would like him to be here tonight but we are sure he will be back soon”.

Mystery hovers around the real state of health of Laurent Weil. Indeed, no information has filtered on the nature of this serious problem which has kept him away from the air for almost a year. Last October, Laurie Cholewa had already wanted to be reassuring during an interview given to our colleagues from TV Mag: “He’s resting and I hope he’ll come back very, very soon. In any case, I miss him a lot. Laurent Weil, it’s one of the meetings of my TV life. We were scared but it’s going to be fine , he will be back”. A statement that dates back 5 months already and the journalist has not yet returned.
