EXCLUDED. Louis Bodin: heat wave, fires… his theories against the current

Louis Bodin gave an interview to Télé Star magazine, on newsstands Monday August 1, 2022. During this interview, the TF1 weather expert spoke about the heat wave and the recent fires in Gironde.

Head of the weather service and weather presenter on RTL since 2002, Louis Bodin has also presented weather reports every other weekend on TF1 since May 2010. A graduate of the National School of Meteorology in Bois-d’Arcy, the presenter has become a real expert. In an interview with the magazine TV Star, available on newsstands and in digital version on Monday August 1, 2022, Louis Bodin analyzed the temperature records. As the Mediterranean breaks temperature records, the weather presenter said: “When we have extreme periods, we confuse a lot of things. We must not mix up global warming and special events such as the heat wave. Moreover, over time, we are well below 2003!

Playing the devil’s advocate, Louis Bodin said: “We broke cold records in Brazil! The real subject is climate change.“While the Gironde is the victim of numerous fires, the weather presenter confided:”I am going to be a little provocative, but fires in France are half as numerous today as twenty years ago. At the time, it was monstrous and we didn’t know how to stop them. We talk about it more because people confuse it.“And yet, the impacts on the environment and wildlife are enormous.”If we are not too invasive, nature will take over much more quickly than we think. Fortunately, all the species have not disappeared, they will quickly reconquer the territories if they are given space.“, he estimated.

Louis Bodin: “I am deeply optimistic”

On Wednesday July 20, 2022, Emmanuel Macron announced a large-scale reforestation project with the National Forestry Office. Asked about this, Louis Bodin said: “We have a territory completely adapted to that, there is such climatic diversity in France. Provided that we go to the end of the project, because we need a real follow-up with better management of the forest, the diversity of cultures, a more intelligent relationship with our environment.“To conclude, the weather presenter assured:”We will get there, I am deeply optimistic.
