The controversies around the few copies of a certain book sold by the former minister Marlène Schiappa have gone around the web. Interviewed by Closer, she answers.
Released on October 6, 2021, Marlène Schiappa’s book entitled His way of being mine has been talked about for a particular reason: the very low number of sales of which it has been the subject. According to our colleagues from Paris Match indeed, the ninth book written by the ex-minister during his five-year term has only sold a few dozen copies. A flop that quickly made the rounds of the internet and provoked the mockery of Internet users. During an interview with the magazine Closer, for the release of a new book, the former Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior of France and in charge of Citizenship returned to this story of book sales in order to put things right.
“Someone had fun looking at checkouts in physical stores, over a day, excluding all online sales, in Corsica, or even abroad, to say that I had only sold 64 copies” she begins by explaining. Yet according to Marlène Schiappa, the reality is quite different and she is far from blushing. “Those numbers were fanciful, and today over 3400 have been sold. It is far from dishonorable. The proof, we continue to publish me, and I will not stop there“. It remains to be seen what the next works will be about. Perhaps they will be inspired by her new adventures now that she is no longer part of President Emmanuel Macron’s government.
Marlène Schiappa has written 10 books in 5 years
If some had warned her about her departure from the Elysée, it would seem, however, that the former minister is doing pretty well. “I received a lot of messages from people who thanked me, especially for all the work I had done for women, or for offering me beautiful projects… “ she explains to Closer. One thing is sure, it will not be, contrary to rumors circulating on the internet, a program broadcast on C8. “It was never about” she said about it. For the moment, Marlène Schiappa continues to promote her latest book, the 10th written for since 2017.
