He is Bertrand Renard’s successor in Numbers and letters. During an interview for Star TV, to discover in its entirety on Monday, October 24, 2022, Stéphane Crosnier is back on the controversy linked to the departure of the two flagship hosts of the show. “You shouldn’t mix everything up. I have a lot of esteem for them but I don’t have to judge the situation. And that didn’t influence my decision either. I understand that this development may upset some people, but this show remains the same with only a few tweaks”, he specifies.
Like his predecessor, Stéphane Crosnier took part in the show Numbers and letters before becoming one of the animators. And one thing is certain, he did not imagine being in this place a few months ago. “The first time I appeared in Numbers and Letters I was barely 18 years old. I then came back there many times and I did a lot of tournaments there. But I didn’t think I would go “other side of the barrier. During the first recordings, I was also surprised to find the adrenaline that was mine when I was a player”.
“A very emblematic candidate”
In an interview for TV 7 days, Patrice Laffont had mentioned the personality of Bertrand Renard’s replacement : “Stéphane Crosnier immediately stood out to me. He is a very charismatic former candidate, prodigious in numbers. He was brilliant in many Numbers and Letters tournaments. But he also has a very good sense of television since he worked as a sports editor at BFMTV and RMC Sport”. As for his sidekick, he said: “Blandine Maire is a teacher in CM2. She has a big background, because she is a lawyer and has also worked on television as a journalist, working with Olivier Minne or on Fort Boyard”.
