EXCLUDED. Such a big sun on break: why the broadcast time has not been changed

Bad news for fans of Un si grand soleil who will have to wait several days before finding Janet, Claire, Yasmine and all the others. Yes, after being canceled a few times because of the Thursday evening broadcast of the Elysée 2022 program, the soap opera usually broadcast daily on France 2 at 8:45 p.m. is still going take a break, but for a long time this time. Rather than the adventures of the characters in the series, these are presidential campaign spots that will be broadcast every evening on France 2 before the evening program. The first round of the presidential election will take place on April 10, which is why France Télévisions has decided to upset its broadcast schedule.

But in this case, why not find another time slot at which it will be possible to broadcast the series? This is the question that Télé Star asked France 2, which sent us an answer. According to France Télévisions, there is a “prime time scheduling order” to be respected, it is therefore impossible for the channel to broadcast the soap opera at 9:10 p.m., after the broadcast of presidential campaign programs. “Each program has its place and removing a program to replace it with a soap opera is simply not feasible. Moreover, an earlier broadcast of Un si grand soleil would not have been possible either since the channel does not have free time slots which would allow it to fill them with the soap opera.

An inflexible program schedule

“If you delete a game for example, viewers wouldn’t understand either.” It is therefore out of the question to shorten the now cult Everyone wants to take their place, or even Don’t forget the lyrics. Every program has its placeand it’s a stroke of bad luck that the presidential campaign will air at this exact time of day – a stroke of bad luck well calculated to get as many viewers as possible in front of it. The next few days will therefore be without such a big sun But do not panic. Three episodes are available from March 28 on France.tv and a two-part behind-the-scenes documentary will be available on April 2 and 9.
