Produced by Jean-Charles Doriathis survey of Restricted zonebroadcast this Sunday October 16, 2022 at 9:10 p.m. on M6highlights the scandalous dysfunctions of Child Welfare. From mistreating foster families, through the indifference of state services, from hotels where adrift adolescents are placed on their own, to dangerous children placed in loving families, the report sends shivers down my spine. Note that to take stock of these intolerable findings and provide solutions, Ophélie Meunier will interview Charlotte Caubel, the Secretary of State in charge of children, after the broadcast of the subject.

In the excerpt below, to discover exclusively on Télé StarLina, placed with her sister with a couple for 4 years when she was a child, testifies to the horrors they suffered within their foster home. Of the abuse which left indelible marks. The host family “would be delivered to daily torture sessions with the little girls”explains the voiceover of the report before giving the floor to the young woman, now 38 years old. “When I was vomiting (…) She made me eat my vomit until I choked (…) She put a funnel down my sister’s throat to pass food, it could be peas, rice, mixed with fish and milk, it was his breakfast”, she says, moved to tears. Lina also states that she spent entire nights locked in the basement of the reception house, in the dark. “You think you’re going to die”, she says. She finally describes, with pain and facing the camera, the rape committed by his foster mother on a baby with a slingshotrape of which she would have been the auditory and visual witness. Her husband let it happen and participated, he was there. He was executing, he didn’t have no pity for us”, explains Lina again, still confused.

As adults, Lina and her sister filed a complaint in 2019, the procedures are still in progress and justice has not yet ruled, it is specified in the report. The two women have just published a book in which they recount their ordeal. Determined to make her surrogate parents face up to their responsibilities and “make them talk”Lina found their traces. “I just want to ask her why she did this to us and to others. What did we do wrong then? I don’t know.”
