Sspeech is rare. Bernard Cazeneuve reserved it for readers of the Point, on the occasion of the release of his book, the last volume of his memories of the government. The book focuses on the year 2016, but, through the events he had to face – the “jungle” of Calais, the Nice attack, the assassination of Father Hamel, the Adama Traoré affair… -, the former Minister of the Interior and Prime Minister unfolds his reflection on “the meaning of our nation”. This is the title he gave to his work published by Stock and which, with the controversies of this beginning of the presidential year, is of burning topicality. In this interview, the one who remains loyal to the PS also lays the foundations for a reconstruction of the left around a social-democratic project.
Point :Not a day without a controversy linked to the nation…
