Zinédine Zidane turns 50 this Thursday, June 23, and many French people dream of seeing him one day at the head of the France team. But before that, coach Didier Deschamps, current coach of the Blues, has been in place since 2012. In an exclusive interview with Europe 1, the president of the French Football Federation, Noël Le Graët, talks about the succession to this post of coach. “After the World Cup (in Qatar), who knows, if we win it, why do you want to change?” Observes the president of the FFF.

Noël Le Graët continues: “If we have a very bad World Cup, there will be a lot of changes”.

No announcement before the World Cup in Qatar?

Can these “changes” be synonymous with the arrival of “Zizou” at the head of the Blues? Is he in pole position to succeed his ex-captain of the France 1998 team, Didier Deschamps? “No, I don’t know”, assures the president of the Federation. “The day you want to call him, two minutes later, he is there. He never makes this kind of mistake”, he explains at the microphone of Europe 1.

“Remember, before South Africa, (Raymond) Domenech was already in a fragile situation. The leaders of the time found nothing better than to sign Laurent Blanc before the competition. How did you want that Domenech is doing?”, underlines Noël Le Graët, who therefore leaves doubt, at least until the next World Cup, on a possible arrival of Zinédine Zidane at the head of the Blues.
