EXCLUSIVE-TotalEnergies renounces the Kharyaga oil project in Russia

PARIS, July 6 (Reuters) – TotalEnergies announced to Reuters on Wednesday that it was withdrawing from the Kharyaga oil project in Russia by selling its 20% stake to the Russian state-owned company Zarubezhneft.

“TotalEnergies has agreed to transfer to Zarubezhneft the remaining 20% ​​stake the company held in the Kharyaga oil field,” a spokesman for the French energy group said in response to a request from Reuters.

“This transaction is subject to the approval of the Russian authorities,” he added.
