PARIS, July 6 (Reuters) – TotalEnergies announced to Reuters on Wednesday that it was withdrawing from the Kharyaga oil project in Russia by selling its 20% stake to the Russian state-owned company Zarubezhneft.
“TotalEnergies has agreed to transfer to Zarubezhneft the remaining 20% stake the company held in the Kharyaga oil field,” a spokesman for the French energy group said in response to a request from Reuters.
“This transaction is subject to the approval of the Russian authorities,” he added.
TotalEnergies still has its shares in the major Russian projects Terneftegaz, Artic LNG, Yamal LNG and Novatek. (Reuters report, Silvia Aloisi, French version Laetitia Volga, edited by Jean-Stéphane Brosse)
