The Deauville American Film Festival will be held again this year in Normandy. Dates of the event, expected stars, and films in competition, that’s all we know about this highly anticipated 2022 edition.

It’s not just the Cannes Film Festival for film and television professionals. There is the Venice Film Festival, La Berlina, Sundance, the Toronto International Film Festival, the Monte Carlo Festival, or the Deauville American Film Festival. 2022 will mark the 48th edition of the event. Like every year, movie stars from all over the world, directors, producers, costume designers, but also anonymous moviegoers are expected on the Normandy coast for several days.

On the program of the 48th Deauville American Film Festival: screenings of feature films, major interviews, dazzling red carpets, but also ceremonies and prestigious award ceremonies. The competition will be opened by the film dedicated to the fight for women’s rights, Call Jane. The festival will close with the film Don’t Worry Darling, by Olivia Wilde.

The stars expected at the 48th Deauville Festival

This year again, Deauville will welcome many French and international stars. Thandiwe Newton and Jesse Eisenberg will receive a Deauville Talent Award and will therefore be present, as will Ana de Armas, the star of Blonde, and Lucy Boynton, winners of the New Hollywood Prize. Charlotte Le Bon for Falcon Lake will be honored with the Prix d’Ormano-Valenti. The Promenade will also host Elizabeth Banks and Sigourney Weaver starring in Call Jane, Harry Styles, Florence Pugh and Olivia Wilde for Don’t Worry Darling. And that’s without counting on the many other celebrities present for a film, as jurors or to enjoy.

As every year, there will be two different juries. A jury dedicated to the official competition, and a jury dedicated to the revelation of the year.

the official competition jury will be chaired by Arnaud Desplechinand he will be supported by Jean-Paul Civeyrac (director and screenwriter), Léa Drucker (actress), Pierre Deladonchamps (actor), Yasmina Khadra (Algerian novelist), Sophie Letourneur (director, screenwriter and actress), Alex Lutz (actor, director, director and humorist) and Marine Vacth (actress).
