It has sometimes been claimed “that people get infected somewhere else, if not in public transport” – this point of view is often based on a misconception that arises when abstracting or modeling, because the multitude of possibilities has to be reduced: “It not everyone goes to a restaurant 0.2 times a day and to a concert 0.05 times a day. There are enough people and especially vulnerable ones for whom public transport is the only significant source of infection.” Public transport is a place with the highest risk of infection, “at the same time it is one of the few places that vulnerable people can hardly avoid”.
