Experts agree: the trend towards cosmetic surgery comes from social media. Companies abroad use this to attract customers. Your enticing tool: a low price.
The institute Swiss Premium Beauty, based in Turkey, is also beating the drum on Instagram and Tiktok. In an interview with Blick, managing directors Sabrina Weber and Serkan Ozan say that it is not about luring young people to Turkey for an operation.
Cheap interventions
The low price does not result from poor quality, but from the “lower wage level in Turkey”, said Weber. On Tiktok, the company advertises, among other things, breast augmentations from 3300 francs.
For comparison: At the Zurich beauty institute Fineskin Group AG you pay 8,490 francs for the same procedure.
Warning of operations abroad
Minela Kalac, the director of the Zurich company, is skeptical about operations abroad. Your reasons: the language barrier in counseling and the lack of follow-up care.
The Swiss Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery also warns against the scam of foreign beauty institutes on its website: “Recruitment companies often lure patients to foreign practices and clinics with opaque promises.” Customers would also have to pay particular attention to the fact that doctors from abroad also comply with the quality standards.
