Russia terrorizes Ukraine almost daily with missiles, glide bombs and drones. The Ukrainian military is now reporting an attack on a weapons depot in the Bryansk region of Russia. Ammunition from North Korea was also stored there.
Ukraine says it has attacked a weapons depot in the Russian border region of Bryansk. The depot, which also stores ammunition supplied by North Korea, was the target of an air strike during the night, the Ukrainian army said.
The stocks, which were largely stored outdoors, included glide bombs and “ammunition for rocket and artillery systems, including those delivered from North Korea.” According to Russian state media, authorities in Bryansk declared a state of emergency in the Karachevsky district due to “explosions.”
The USA and South Korea accuse North Korea of supplying Russia with weapons and missiles for the war in Ukraine. Kiev also assures that North Korean ammunition used by Russia has been found at attack sites in Ukraine. Pyongyang rejects the allegations.
Kyiv and Moscow report drone attacks
In response to Russian attacks since the invasion began in February 2022, Kiev has increased its airstrikes on energy facilities and military bases in Russia in recent months. According to Moscow, Russian air defense intercepted 47 Ukrainian drones during the night.
The Russian Defense Ministry said 24 of them were shot down in Bryansk. 13 more drones were destroyed over the Sea of Azov. According to Moscow, the remaining drones were intercepted over the Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov and Krasnodar regions.
Ukraine, for its part, said it had shot down 21 Russian drones during the night. An industrial plant in the Poltava region was damaged in a Russian missile attack.
