ExxonMobil: fire at Baytown refinery


(CercleFinance.com) – A fire broke out overnight from Wednesday to Thursday at the ExxonMobil refinery in Baytown, near Houston (Texas), the oil group said this morning.

The fire, the origin of which has not yet been determined, was contained by the emergency services officiating on the site, assures Exxon, which specifies that at this stage the quality of the air around the factory was not affected.

Built in 2019, the Baytown petrochemical complex is considered one of the largest in the world, with a workforce of 7,000 people, an area spanning more than 1,600 hectares and a production capacity of 584,000 barrels per day.
