We can never have enough eye shadow. But which innovations and all-time favorites are really worth their hype? The BRIGITTE.de editorial team has tested.

Product: Modern Renaissance by Anastasia Beverly Hills
Price: 50 Euros
Use: Inspired by the colors of Renaissance painting, this palette comes with a total of 14 highly pigmented colors. They range from soft beige and peach nuances through brown tones to intense berry tones in matt and metallic finishes.
Optics: The palette contains a large mirror inside and a double-sided brush. For me, the palette is definitely an eye-catcher in the make-up cabinet.
Application: The palette’s silky textures are really effortless to combine and blend with one another. They last all day without a base or fixing spray.
Effect: For me, an eyeshadow palette has to be multifunctional – and the Modern Renaissance fulfills this one hundred percent. With the pretty colors (perfect for green eyes, I think) you can create subtle eye make-up for the day as well as more dramatic and expressive looks for the evening.

Product: Flower Bed range from Dear Dahlia
Price: 61 euros
Use: The eight eyeshadows in the palette range from matt to shimmering to pearlescent. The colors are inspired by spring flowers, the color range moves in shades of pink and brown. In the middle is a slightly larger, light pink blush. In addition, all of the ingredients in the range are vegan and cruelty-free. Definitely a plus!
Optics: The octagonal design with marble look is visually impressive, but the cardboard material is not my favorite. There is a mirror inside, but no applicator.
Application: Theoretically, you can make up great everyday looks with the palette, unfortunately the eyeshadow crumbles when you pick up with the brush and the powder flies around on the palette. After using it several times, the pallet looks a bit worn out. The job works very well and the colors harmonize perfectly with each other.
Effect: The palette is rather softly pigmented and therefore particularly suitable for everyday use or beginners to make-up. The colors appeal to me and the eyeshadows really last all day. Unfortunately, the blush is a little too light for my cheeks, but I also like to use it on my lids in summer.

Product: Bare It All eyeshadow palette from Too Faced
Price: about 43 euros
Use: The palette contains ten buttery, matt colors and four multidimensional metallic tones. The special thing about it: The metallic colors are refined with a wide variety of pigments and pearls to achieve an extraordinary look.
Optics: The range is much smaller than you are used to from Too Faced; however, this makes it quite handy. Perfect for traveling! Two of the neutrals are in a larger pan, as they could be used for just about any look. Accordingly, they are not empty that quickly (not that something like this would ever happen to me …). They also have a nice embossing in the eyeshadow.
Application: I’m used to super good quality eyeshadow from Too Faced. So it doesn’t surprise me here either that the colors are super soft and, above all, easy to blend. A brush is not included in the palette; personally, that doesn’t bother me at all.
Effect: The color world is rather warm – exactly my thing. I love that you can combine all the colors in the palette, but you can also wear them alone. The metallic tones are best applied with the fingers and are unbeatably well pigmented. This is what my perfect, warm eyeshadow palette should look like.

Product: Summer Solstice Eyeshadow Palette from NARS
Price: 52 euros
Use: “A sensual palette that makes the eyes shine“ – that promises Nars with its new summer palette. The nine warm tones range from light, shiny sand tones to warm, matte copper tones.
Optics: The pallet comes in a practically square format and is therefore perfect for on the go. The NARS logo is backed with a shiny bronze tone and thus looks particularly summery and high-quality.
Application: The highly pigmented colors can be easily applied and blended with my eyeshadow brush.
Effect: I have red hair and blue eyes. All eye shadows that have a reddish undertone make my complexion and eyes shine straight away and go to my shopping cart in no time at all. So also with the NARS range. With the warm tones you can be relaxed Day make-ups, but also create more dramatic dinner looks. The pigmentation is strong and the eyeshadow lasts all day. What more do you want!?

Price: 20 Euros
Use: The palette includes 14 eyeshadow colors with a diverse mix of cool and warm tones in glittering, matt and metallic finishes. This means that a natural everyday look can be made up just as easily as a dramatic glamor style.
Optics: The palette is very valuable and elegant. The gold-colored packaging fits perfectly with its contents, lies nicely in the hand and definitely looks great on the dressing table.
Application: The eyeshadows have a buttery texture, are highly pigmented and can therefore be easily applied and softly blended – really great! Particularly nice: The 14 colors are not only perfectly matched to one another, they are also easy to assemble – depending on whether you like it natural or dramatic.
Effect: I’m a big fan – once again! In fact, it’s not my first Douglas own-brand eyeshadow palette, and it definitely won’t be the last. The neutral tones are exactly my thing, they always fit and should be part of the basic equipment of every beauty fan. Price-performance is unbeatable here!
