F1 2022: According to Tom Henderson, the game will support cross-play and VR and will add… supercars!

Just a few days after sharing some rumors around the development of FIFA 23the insider Tom Henderson was once again talked about yesterday by releasing several unofficial informationto be taken with tweezers therefore, on the next Formula 1 game from Codemasters which should logically be called F1 2022 and whose existence is not really a secret given that it is an annual license like Fifa.

F1 LIFE, a game mode that risks dividing?

Again via the Xfire site, Tom Henderson claims that the British studio has planned to integrate into its racing game the functionality so much requested by fans of cross-play between all the platforms on which it will be released, an addition which would be more than welcome to allow everyone to make the most of the Carrière Coop and the open lobby. Also note that it should be compatible with virtual reality headsets.

But the main upheaval that could experience the series with F1 2022still according to the insider, it is the pure and simple disappearance of its scripted mode which would not return before 2023 in order to make way for “F1 LIFE”, in particular due to too tight development deadlines (the Carrière Mon Equipe /My Team and Driver would stay).

In this new mode, players would be invited to “Go behind the scenes of the lives of real Formula 1 drivers” having the opportunity to acquire “various luxury items”such as watches and glasses for example, and above all to collect and drive supercars on the different circuits of the title. A priori, it will also be possible to compete in supercar races online, but multi-category events would not be on the program.

Assuming that this information is true, which we recall is not the case, it remains to be seen whether “F1 LIFE” will truly manage to fill the absence of a scripted mode and whether its presence will be deemed useful. and interesting within the license. What do you think ?
