Available since August 30, 2022 on PC and consoles, F1 Manager 2022 met with great success with the public despite an AI with sometimes questionable behavior, an ambitious but perfectible technique and refinement concerns. Aware of the existence of these issues, Frontier Developments has rolled out several updates to fix some of them while trying to improve the gameplay experience over the past two months.
Unfortunately, if you hoped that the British studio would continue on this path at least until the end of the year, you will be disappointed because it formalized yesterday on Reddit the imminent end of the post-launch monitoring of the title. In other words, the next major patch that will be offered will be the last and only minor fixes could be made in the future.

As explained by community manager F1MChris in this post, the next update “includes several visual improvements on cars. We’ve further differentiated their look by incorporating some of the key features of many teams’ 2022 designs (parts + liveries). Additionally, we are making positive changes regarding fuel consumption issues during qualifying sessions and changes related to incorrect estimated race time calculations. »
He then adds this: “This upcoming F1 Manager 2022 update will be the last major update. […] Any potential patches that follow will be minor fixes that will not materially affect gameplay. In order to ensure that future F1 Manager projects fulfill their potential and meet our expectations and those of our community, the development team must fully focus on these projects beyond F1 Manager 2022, after this next update. »
As a reminder, F1 Manager 2022 was released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Given the way the message is shot and the timing chosen to publish it, we can assume that Frontier Developments is already fully focused on the design of the second opus of the series which should therefore logically arrive next yearin 2023.
