Horror evening for Lando Norris at Wembley!
The English Formula 1 driver from McLaren is watching the European Championship final in London on Sunday in the stadium and has to watch as his “Three Lions” mess up the title against Italy in a penalty shootout.
The disappointment runs deep. Also about the tumultuous scenes before the start of the game, when thousands of chaos storm the entrances of the stadium.
But things get much worse for Norris. When he wants to get into his McLaren GT Supercar, which costs around 210,000 francs, in the Wembley garage, he is attacked by two gangsters!
A watch worth 50,000 was stolen
One of the strangers holds Norris while the other takes off his watch in a fraction of a second, a Swiss Richard Mille RM 11-03 worth over 50,000 francs. Tennis star Rafael Nadal also wears watches from this brand.
An eyewitness reported in the “Sun”: “Lando was arrested and the other robber pulled the watch from his arm – in a matter of seconds! Lando looked completely upset and shocked. The security system at Wembley was a nightmare. ” After all, Norris should be physically unharmed.
“He’s taken away”
“Fortunately, Lando was uninjured, but he is understandably battered,” said his racing team McLaren. “The team supports Lando and we are sure that racing fans, along with us, wish him all the best for the British Grand Prix this weekend.”
It was only in May that the young man from Bristol celebrated the signing of a new contract with McLaren, which brings him around 7.5 million francs a year. He earned the contract with great performances on the track, he finished third on the podium in Imola, Monaco and most recently in Spielberg at the Austrian GP.
“One of the greatest talents”
McLaren boss Zak Brown is full of praise for the young Briton: “Lando is one of the greatest talents in the F1 circus.”
He can show that again this coming weekend at home in Silverstone. (wst)
